Agricultural and livestock materials :Pasture silage wrap
Overview
Pasture Grasses are divided into two families, Gramineae and Fabaceae. Among them, there are so many different types of grasses. For example, orchard grass, timothy, alfalfa, clover, etc. The grasses are fermented and prcessed for feed which is called "Silage" or "Grass Rolls" The reason for fermentation is that it increases the amount of organic acids to make the grass richer in nutrients, suppress putrefactive bacteria, and allows it to be stored for a long time. There are two ways to make a silage: the tower silo system and using silage wrap. Tower silos are facilities for storing large amounts of grass. However, they are too large and difficult to maintain and needs much cost for running. So,there are less Tower silos nowadays. Instead, the use of silage wrap is becoming predominant method.
